Okay, sooooooo, as most of you know, we have 2 bachelor flocks that we built new coops & runs for. We built the coops from old shipping crates & we were pleased with how they turned out. Fast forward to a few days ago when we realized that two of the bachelors in the second bachelor flock are total a**holes! Popeye's & Fuzzy Butt used to be very small & were often picked on by some of the other roosters & even a couple of hens. Naturally, Mandy babied them. Mandy even brought Fuzzy Butt inside to live for a few weeks. Well, now that they have gotten bigger, suddenly they have to decide they will be the bullies & not just toward the ones who bullied them, but everyone! Now, Lil Bug's roo, Sapphire used to be a total butt, but he has turned into a sweet cuddle bug & a hero. Guess all the times Lil Bug scolded him & had her talks with him about good behavior did more good than we thought. So, now he tries to defend the ones being tormented by Popeye's & Fuzzy Butt, which results in the two of them tag teaming him while their original victim gets away. In other words, he ends up hurt. We are so mad! The thing is, Popeye's & Fuzzy Butt love each other & Fuzzy Butt loves Mandy. It has us feeling all kinds of ways. We came to the conclusion that those two are very much like the little mean trio we have in our original bachelor flock, fine together but may never be able to live with others. So, we've decided to leave them together & give Sapphire, Splash, & T-rex their own coop & run. However, neither Mandy nor Michael relished the thoughts of building another coop from a crate in these awful temperatures. In light of that, we opted to buy a prefab coop just big enough for a few single guys, & thanks to the support our community has shown, we could! New coop has shipped & will hopefully be here in a few days! It wouldn't be happening without the support you guys have shown over on Twitch! He tends to move a lot & makes getting good pics difficult. Lol. Will also be sure that Lil Bug knows that it is thanks to you guys that her hero of a rooster has a safe, new home!
